Hi, I am an artist, wife, mom, gamer and the Elementary Art Educator at Donald Elementary, a sweet and wonderful school in Flower Mound, TX (outside of Dallas). This is a great place to see how we are integrating studio habits with technology and interdisciplinary connections. I also love to share my "wisdom" (Re: Experiences. From mistakes.) about teaching Elementary Art. I love what I do, and I've been doing it for a long time. Creating and teaching Art is what I live for. Enjoy.

not sure which is worst....

It's Friday.

It's a full moon.

Mercury is in retrograde (for my cosmic friends).

It's the first day of outdoor recess in 3 weeks.

It's Valentine's Day.

It's class party day.

To those who have a snow day today...please read my mind and stop laughing at me.

...it's 8:45 am and I already have a headache and that glazed look in my eyes.

  1. Oh I get what your saying! Although I am home on day 2 of Snow days... 2 snow storms in 24 hours that dumped 20 inches of snow on us! Still have to go out and finish shoveling! As I was shoveling this morning I was thinking about all the really sucky things I would rather be doing than shoveling, I would have rather been: at school with all the Valentine's crazies, teaching my 1st graders to be polite, respectful human beings(this years group is a doozy! One class actually made one of the cafeteria/playground ladies cry, seriously.. same class had to sit in the hallway outside my room before I would let them enter, 7 of them sat class out while the rest of us finished our paintings) do dishes( I seriously hate doing the dishes, with a passion hate...) The day will be over soon! Just keep smiling! :)

  2. Ok, school is finally out. I can tell you, although I haven't owned a snow shovel in 18 years, I think I win. This day. THIS DAY. My ears are bleeding. Stay warm and cozy my friend! And shoveling can hurt you, get your kids to do it!!!!!
