Hi, I am an artist, wife, mom, gamer and the Elementary Art Educator at Donald Elementary, a sweet and wonderful school in Flower Mound, TX (outside of Dallas). This is a great place to see how we are integrating studio habits with technology and interdisciplinary connections. I also love to share my "wisdom" (Re: Experiences. From mistakes.) about teaching Elementary Art. I love what I do, and I've been doing it for a long time. Creating and teaching Art is what I live for. Enjoy.

Fun times with Mud...err....Clay

 Clay: gotta love it.
2nd grade Coiled Pots

waiting for the kiln...

...and adorable kindergarten pinch pots. Check out the monsters OMG!!!!!!!

  1. My 2nd graders are making Canopic Jars right now. To make the bottom part I had them fill a foam cup with clay and use a plastic spoon to scoop out the middle. You can see the results by following this link: (The heads also turned out very well and cute!

  2. Oh holey moley those are great! What a cool idea, I really love the internal organs.

I use White Modeling clay (not the air dry, although that stuff is great too) for our hand building, I have noticed it's more durable than others, plus I like the white after it's fired :)

  3. Great clay work! I've enjoyed exploring your blog, you have some marvellous ideas. I'll be following with interest :)
Love to have you visit me at Dream Painters.
