My 2nd graders are making Canopic Jars right now. To make the bottom part I had them fill a foam cup with clay and use a plastic spoon to scoop out the middle. You can see the results by following this link: (The heads also turned out very well and cute!

ReplyDeleteI use White Modeling clay (not the air dry, although that stuff is great too) for our hand building, I have noticed it's more durable than others, plus I like the white after it's fired :)
