"We do not teach the arts to create great artists anymore than we teach math to create the next generation of mathematicians or language arts to create the next generation of writers. We teach the arts in our schools to create great people so they are empowered with skills and knowledge to be successful in life… to do great things regardless of the vocational pathway they choose."

- Hi, I am an artist, wife, mom, gamer and the Elementary Art Educator at Donald Elementary, a sweet and wonderful school in Flower Mound, TX (outside of Dallas). This is a great place to see how we are integrating studio habits with technology and interdisciplinary connections. I also love to share my "wisdom" (Re: Experiences. From mistakes.) about teaching Elementary Art. I love what I do, and I've been doing it for a long time. Creating and teaching Art is what I live for. Enjoy.

So. I have decided to fill up any spare time I have with starting a blog about the Art program here at Donald. It is my hope that this will become a great way to connect with you and your kiddoes on a deeper level. There is no better way to spend time than with *insert favorite art supply here* in your hand! The Art room is fun, messy and full of joy and laughter...and I would love to share that with you.
